LEED Gold – Science Museum of Virginia Dewey Gottwald Center

2RW would like to congratulate the Science Museum of Virginia for achieving LEED Gold certification for its Dewey Gottwald Center! The final design achieved 28% energy reduction over baseline, well above the initial target of 14%. Sustainable MEP features include:

  • Zoned HVAC systems to accommodate movable partitions
  • Demand-controlled ventilation to reduce energy use during periods of low occupancy
  • Power and data outlets arranged in an array at floor level and above the ceiling to provide flexibility for a variety of A/V systems and configurations
