The Lewis and Clark Exploratory Center is to be a “hands-on center focusing on the historic expedition as a gateway for learning about exploration, transportation, the arts, science, the natural environment, and native cultures”. The center—housing exhibit space, a library, kitchen, and administrative offices—is located on the banks of the Rivanna River in Darden Towe Park.

  • Geothermal heating and cooling system including an energy recovery ventilator (ERV)

  • Energy efficient LED and fluorescent lighting
  • Low-flow sinks and toilets
