2RW. has provided professional engineering for the AHA since 1996. Beginning in that year and continuing through 2001, 2RW provided technical support for the first Energy Performance Contract (EPC) implemented at the authority.
2RW conducted investment grade energy audits for sixteen residential high rises and two multi-family sites, representing more than 3,000 dwelling units. 2RW prepared full design/bid/build documents for the energy improvements at these sites in full compliance with U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development guidelines. As improvements were installed, 2RW provided construction administration services. At the conclusion of the project, 2RW calculated new resident utility allowances, accounting for the new, efficient building improvements.
Among the utility reduction strategies implemented at the AHA properties as part of the EPC were:
2RW also designed utility-grade, line-carrier metering systems to enable the AHA to monitor electricity use in each apartment without the need for new electric circuitry. Total improvements to AHA properties were valued at 4.5 million dollars, yielding over $800,000 in reduced annual energy costs.
2RW has provided other services to the AHA over the years, including:
